I practice a functional approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected and have contributed to your current state of health. It is my mission to empower you with the knowledge and collective wisdom to create health for YOURSELF, no matter where you are right now!
A key aspect of my approach is my focus on root cause resolution – which means that I am eager to discover the key imbalance that is responsible for the symptoms you’re experiencing right now. This is what functional medicine is all about, and through the lens of food and lifestyle, I seek to give you solutions, not more bandaids to cover up the symptoms.
Together we will embark on an integrative and holistic approach to your wellness. We will focus on food and lifestyle shifts that can make a profound impact on your health, symptoms and overall happiness. We will explore both Eastern and Western medicine as we craft a personalized and holistic plan for YOU and your unique journey. I offer a very detailed intake, which spans two sessions, and during that time I will be learning about your unique health history, what motivates you, and will begin to uncover mediators that effect your health. These elements may may include aspects of your home, your work, your relationships, and your mental state - all in an effort to arrive at a “lifestyle prescription” that puts you back on the road to health.
It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat, though that is a GREAT start, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives: Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, manageable stress levels, adequate sleep, regular physical activity, a dedication to self-care, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When all of these interconnected parts of your life are balanced -- what you eat becomes secondary.
My approach centers on eating real, vibrant foods. I focus on nutrient density, and working closely with you and your health history to determine foods that are healing for you at this time. With me you will more likely be counting colors over calories and we will not be focused on restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with you to create a happy, healthy approach to eating that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
